I had a fascinating experience this morning. I was driving to work, and began to feel itching on my hands. I looked down, and the skin had red splotches, which then became raised, like hives. This spread to my arms, chest, and face. It was quite concerning, as my face was bright red. It looked like an acute, bad sunburn. Several of my nurses were quite frightened and shocked at my appearance. I sent one of them to get me an oral benadryl (antihistamine), and then I did one full round of tapping for, "even though I'm having an allergic reaction of something, I deeply...."
Within minutes, the redness and itching began to subside. When the benadryl arrived I took it and within 5 minutes the symptoms and signs resolved completely (btw benadryl takes 20 to 30 minutes to kick in and my symptoms were gone by the time it started to work).
I'm not really sure what I had a reaction to. I have no known allergies. Fortunately I had no airway compromise during this event. I was truly amazed at how quickly EFT worked to abate this worsening allergic situation.
The second experience was a situation that happened at a recent conference I attended. I was asked to assist an individual who was suffering from abdominal distress. She described her distress as feeling like razor blades in her upper abdomen. She rated her discomfort at an 8.
We did two rounds of EFT, with the setup, "Even though I have this pain in my gut, I accept myself...." Then it dawned on her that she had eaten chocolate which she is allergic to. So we changed the setup to "Even though I ate chocolate....", "Even thought I'm allergic to chocolate...". Then we did two more rounds of EFT and, while tapping on the index finger, I asked her to say, "I forgive myself for eating chocolate, I'm doing the best I can." After 4 rounds of EFT her distress was down to 0.
When I use EFT to help people with physical problems, I always make sure they understand that EFT didn't fix their problem. EFT balanced their energy system which allowed their body healing mechanism to deal with the problem.
